World music- Progressive
Jim Petit - Colmar (Alsace, France)
Jim Petit is a French slide guitarist. He taught himself this technique as a young teenager.
His music is inspired by classical Indian music, which he learned with Pandit Shri Krishna Sharma. Now a slide guitar specialist, and notably of its Indian versions, Jim Petit is a unique musician in his genre.
Since his first album in 2005, "Blues around the World", sold on all the continents, Jim has produced music that is more and more precise and emotional.
Since 2009, Jim has written his lyrics in Esperanto. To Jim, Esperanto is the perfect language for presenting universal music.
In 2012, Jim studied symphonic orchestra composition at the Conservatory of Colmar.
Now he can present the music he dreamed of for many years, "modal music with Indian rhythms for symphonic orchestra and slide guitars". Like the meeting of Ravi Shankar and Pink Floyd….
Jim has performed his music in France, Germany, the Czech Republic, and Scandinavia.
In 2014, a new album, "Karma", is the fruit of long and profound work on the slide guitar and on music in general, work began almost twenty years ago when Jim chose the slide guitar as his means of artistic expression.
